Are you looking to start a business?

It takes courage, desire and determination to make a startup business successful.

As an entrepreneur, I absolutely love starting up new companies!  Why? The challenge to convert a thought to paper then see the idea evolve into a new business gives me great satisfaction.  However, startups can be very challenging especially since financial support is necessary to fund the project.

How do you start a business?  Where do you get the money?  What kind of business should you start? There are many factors to consider when starting a new business.  It takes planning, time and hard work to start anything new but nowadays, with so many resources available to us, it can be a lot easier than most people would think.

The National Entrepreneur Center is one of the best resources an entrepreneur can use to convert an idea into a business.  They offer all the tools and resources necessary to ensure your success.  They offer different workshops, training, business plan development and more.  I admire individuals that dare to dream and take the right action to make their dreams a reality. The creative ideas and innovative solutions people dream up is truly unbelievable.

It’s important to do your research and learn about the industry you’re getting into to determine what approach is most beneficial for you.  It’s always better to start a business with something you’re passionate about because your determination is endless.  Let your creative juices flow and picture what this new startup is going to look like.  I encourage you to dream and take the first step to start your new venture.  Embrace a new challenge.  Don’t be afraid to follow your heart and see your dreams come true!

Can the weather affect your MOOD?

It’s interesting how certain weather conditions can affect your mood.

People make decisions based on the weather and their emotions.  So many people automatically limit themselves by saying “it’s going to rain” or “it’s hot outside.”  Many of us don’t realize that we subconsciously make decisions based on certain emotions.

I experienced a traumatic event in my life during a “Rainy Day.”  Since then, it has been a struggle for me to overcome and change my perception about the rain.  The memories I have from rainy days are not the most pleasant but, I’ve taught myself to see past that time in my life.  Whenever it rains I catch myself going back to that dark moment but, I quickly flip my thinking to focus on the good things in my life that I’m thankful for.  Many of us don’t realize how a scenario, place or event can haunt our minds for years and create limitations in our lives.

We can limit ourselves by automatically changing our plans because of certain weather conditions.  A lot of people don’t do much outdoors because “it’s hot” but, you can overcome any weather condition with your mind.  If your heart is set on doing something, you are going to do it regardless of the weather.  So the next time you feel like changing your plans because of the rain or heat think about how you can continue on the go regardless of what’s in your way! Rain or shine!

Do you have SuperPowers?

I believe everyone has a competitor inside of them with unlimited super powers.

The responses I receive from friends, family and everyone on Facebook when I talk about my “Super Powers” is hilarious.  People either LAUGH or get annoyed by my crazy posts about alysuperpowers.com.  It’s pretty funny to think about having “super powers” but I do it to inspire others to go beyond their fears, doubts and to bring out their competitive side.

What are my Aly Super Powers, you ask?   Well, first let me explain what a super power is.  A super power is the ability to overcome a challenge or situation with a positive thought.  The determination to move forward, regardless of your present circumstances, with faith, belief and strength.  The power to accomplish your goals with positive energy and an incredible drive.

There are many times in life where the odds are against you but, only you can decide if you are going to focus on the limitations or the opportunities.  As an entrepreneur, I have trained myself to view situations in a positive way; to use connections, opportunities and strategic planning to move closer to a particular goal.  Some people come across an opportunity and only see obstacles and immediately envision failure while others are presented with the same opportunity and see the benefits and rewards.  You can be either optimistic or pessimistic.

In order to use my super powers, I have to be in a state of mind that I call “Aly’s Bubble.”  Many people close to me can tell when I enter “Aly’s Bubble.”  I normally get the “oh boy, there she goes….” look.  It’s a place where my determination, drive and focus are so sharp that nothing can get in my way. There are no limitations, no restrictions…it’s a Done Deal!  This place brings out an extremely powerful belief of faith for me. There is no failure or doubt about a successful outcome.  I’m able to connect with my mind, body and soul to make rational decisions instead of emotional ones.  Some people don’t understand what it takes to be mentally strong and to survive challenges in life.

I encourage people to practice and train your mind to focus on the desirable direction of your life by using your own super powers.  I know it’s not easy for some people to dream or envision their goals but you can start training your mind to evolve and dream!  I’ll be going into more detail on how to continue to develop and train your mind over the next couple weeks.  It is your time to dream and use your super powers to live the life you deserve…!

The Ultimate Commitment...

On June 13, 2013, my sister was married for the very first time in her life.  It was an honor for me to be a part of this very meaningful celebration for her.  Although my sister is older than me, she had never been married.  I was married 15 years ago so I knew the importance of this special day.

It was truly remarkable to see a couple celebrate their love and commitment to each other.  The emotion was genuine, pure, caring, sincere and heartfelt.  To me marriage is a commitment of two hearts to love each other forever.  No matter where life takes you, on that particular day you make a decision to love each other.  It doesn’t matter if you end up divorced, widowed or together; on your wedding day you make a commitment of two hearts to be together forever.

It was so refreshing to see a couple make that life-long commitment.  In today’s society there are so many couples that have kids outside of marriage and do the “living together” thing.  We are living in times where just “living together” is the norm for relationships but, as a woman, marriage it is vitally important to have that commitment from the man she loves.  It gives you a sense of security and protection to be able to look forward into the future.

I personally got married young and spent all of my 20s married.  My marriage lasted for 12 long years.  It was a remarkable and amazing experience in my life.  I enjoyed many years of happiness and many years of discovering what was really important to me.  I do not regret my commitment to love someone because I learned so much from my marriage.  To this day, I believe you always remember that special moment.

Many people think that having a child or living together is the same level of commitment as being married.  I disagree.   Yes they are all commitments in your life but, marriage is the ultimate commitment.  It is the best acknowledgment a woman can receive from the man she loves; the proposal to love her forever and be the only one in the world for him. It is fascinating to celebrate weddings because you are celebrating love.

I wish all newlyweds lots of happiness, patience and understanding.  Communication in a relationship is so important.  It takes work from both sides to make any relationship last.  Love one another and cherish your life together with much appreciation.

Do you live your life with fears...?

I believe we all have fears in different areas of our lives.  In order for us to continue to grow and develop it is necessary for us to define those fears.  Once you’re able to recognize and acknowledge your fears, you can achieve greater accomplishments in life.  Different situations in my life have helped me identify my own personal fears.

I believe one of the strongest fears people have is the “Fear of Rejection.”  Many people are afraid to be rejected, avoided, abandoned and to be told “NO.”  Some take a NO personally and as a result become upset with others because they were denied a specific request.  I believe the way we react to certain situations is a result of our experiences.  We grow up and are told NO over and over again and we find ourselves being limited to many things.

It’s important to understand the reason behind a NO so that it’s not taken personally.  I normally communicate a NO with an explanation.  It makes the conversation more pleasant and understandable.  I have been in the sales industry for many years and understand that sometimes people don’t want to be bothered especially when they are being asked to spend money.  I’ve learned not to take a NO, from business deals or negotiations, personally.  At the end of the day, it’s just a business transaction.  I encourage you to uncover what situations make you fearful and work on handling those emotions.
